We are not looking for children with special abilities
We create the right conditions for every child to discover who they are.
Starting the admissions process at GCB is the first step towards shaping your child’s future together. Rather than simply assessing applicants, we aim to get to know each family and student to ensure that our educational model is in line with their needs and expectations.
This process is designed to be people-centred, approachable and transparent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Choose GCB for Your Child's Education?
Choosing a school is about far more than selecting a place to learn. It is about choosing the environment where your child will grow, discover who they are and begin building a meaningful future.
At GCB, we believe every student is unique and deserves an education that nurtures both academic excellence and personal growth. That is why we combine academic rigour, an international outlook, social and emotional development, and personalised support, ensuring that every student is known, valued and supported throughout their school journey.
Our purpose is to nurture young people who think critically, act with integrity and build meaningful lives, equipped to make a positive contribution wherever life takes them.
What Makes GCB's Educational Approach Different?
At GCB, we offer an outstanding bilingual education that brings together the strengths of the Colombian curriculum with some of the world’s most respected international programmes, providing an education that is academically rigorous, deeply human and globally minded.
Our international journey begins in the early years through Cambridge Early Years, delivered at American Garden, the first educational experience within the GCB family. Here, children develop curiosity, creativity and a love of learning through play, exploration and meaningful experiences designed specifically for early childhood.
As students progress, they continue their learning journey through Cambridge International, gradually developing critical thinking, enquiry, communication, problem-solving and independence. This pathway culminates in Year 9 with the Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), one of the world’s most recognised international qualifications.
In Years 10 and 11, students have the opportunity to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), a globally respected qualification that develops research, analytical thinking, leadership, interdisciplinary understanding and a strong commitment to addressing the challenges of today’s world, while opening doors to universities in Colombia and across the globe.
Beyond internationally recognised programmes, we believe an exceptional education helps young people think with discernment, act with integrity, lead with purpose and build meaningful lives.
How Does GCB Support Every Student's Development?
We believe education is also about developing the skills that matter for life.
That is why we foster a balanced educational experience where academic excellence goes hand in hand with wellbeing, leadership, sport, the arts, culture and social and emotional development.
Through GCB Cares, the close guidance of our teachers and the support of a dedicated interdisciplinary team, we nurture emotional intelligence, independence, positive relationships, self-awareness and overall wellbeing.
Our commitment is to support every child and young person in every aspect of their development, helping them grow with confidence, resilience and purpose.
When Is the Best Time to Begin the Admissions Process?
Families are welcome to begin the admissions process at any time during the year. However, due to the strong demand for places at GCB and because some year groups reach capacity several months in advance, we encourage families to begin the process as early as possible.
At GCB, we understand that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family will make. That is why we have designed a personalised and supportive admissions journey, giving families the opportunity to experience our educational approach, ask questions and make this important decision with confidence and peace of mind.
Our Admissions Team will be delighted to guide you through every stage of the process and advise you on availability for your child’s year group.
What Does the Admissions Process Involve?
Our admissions process has been carefully designed to get to know both your child and your family, ensuring that GCB is the right environment to support their growth and development.
The process includes a personalised campus visit, submission of the application, a student assessment, a family interview and the admissions decision.
Throughout every stage, our Admissions Team will provide personalised guidance, answer your questions and ensure the experience is welcoming, transparent and reassuring.
Can We Visit the School Before Applying?
Absolutely.
In fact, we believe the best way to discover GCB is to experience it.
We invite you to explore our campus, visit our learning environments, discover our educational approach and experience first-hand the welcoming atmosphere that defines our community.
Every visit is personalised and led by a member of our Admissions Team, who will be delighted to answer your questions and guide you throughout your visit.
You can easily book your visit through the Book Your Visit section of our website. As appointments are personalised and availability is often limited, we recommend booking in advance.
Is It Possible to Join GCB During the School Year?
Yes. We welcome applications throughout the academic year, subject to the availability of places.
At GCB, we believe a truly personalised educational experience begins with a carefully built community. For this reason, we intentionally maintain class sizes that allow every student to be known, valued and supported, and some year groups reach capacity well before the start of the academic year.
Our Admissions Team will be pleased to advise you on availability and guide your family throughout the admissions process.
What Documents Are Required to Apply?
The required documentation may vary depending on your child’s age and previous school.
Our Admissions Team will provide a personalised checklist and guide your family through every stage of the process, ensuring the experience is clear, straightforward and well supported.
From What Age Can Children Join GCB?
Families can begin their educational journey from the earliest years at American Garden, the first educational experience within the GCB family, where children
learn through play, exploration and meaningful experiences in a safe, nurturing environment designed especially for early childhood.
Families may also join GCB directly from Párvulos (3 years of age), as well as at any other year group, subject to the availability of places and the successful completion of the admissions process.
Whether a family’s journey begins at American Garden or students join GCB at a later stage, our commitment remains the same: to provide a coherent, personalised and high-quality educational journey that supports every student’s academic, personal and human development from their very first day through to university and beyond.
